How do I: Access CIR…

CIR an incredible resource to help you in clinic and everywhere else. It is the Citywide Immunization Registry. New York City created this incredible database for participating pediatricians and hospitals to enter vaccination records as well as look-up vaccination histories. It also tells you when they’re due for each vaccine next and also has info on previous lead screenings.

Your CIR account is created at the beginning of intern year by the designated CIR manager for each clinic. You should receive an email from cir-reset@health.nyc.gov with your login and a link to create a password. YOUR ACTIVATION LINK IS ONLY GOOD FOR 96 HOURS! If your activation expired or you cannot find this email, please ask your clinic preceptor to speak with your clinic’s CIR Manager (CFCC: Dr. Belamarich; FCC: Dr. Bloomfield) to reset your account.

If you have not yet created a CIR account and need timely information, you can still pull vaccinations from CIR into Epic!
1. Go to immunizations tab (left hand column, if not on left side click more--> rarely used)
2. Click immunization registry on top
3. A CIR request will initiate after a few seconds. You can hit refresh also.
4. If there are records in CIR, they will generate under Immunizations from Immunization Registries
5. If the immunizations in the chart are not inputted or incomplete you will see a "Immunization need attention- Go Reconcile button" and then you can add those new immunizations to the patients chart (Make sure to check that they seem correct prior to adding to EPIC chart)
6. Next to each immunization, click "add" to add them to an Epic chart
